Not just a scrap yard.
Incorporated in 1968 by Nelson L. Schupan, Schupan & Sons has grown from a 6-person scrap metal recycler to an over-500-employee metals and plastics business specializing in industrial and electronics recycling, fabrication and distribution, beverage container processing and materials trading. The company has 15 locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.
Schupan’s formula for success has been simple: to treat their customers and employees as they would wish to be treated.
Schupan & Sons, Inc. believes in giving back to the communities that provide opportunities for its employees and in building relationships that add value to their customers. Honored with various community-based and national awards, Schupan & Sons, Inc. leads the list of top companies to work for and to do business with.
“Attracting talented, committed people who believe in our mission, and then investing in those people has made all the difference. ‘The team with the best army wins,’” Marc Schupan, CEO of the company, said, “and Schupan has the best army. The key is hiring good people who are committed to our customers and who will continually make improvements.”
As a third-generation, family-owned business, Schupan & Sons, Inc. is poised for long-term success.
On being well-positioned for the future, Marc Schupan said, “For fifty years, this company has anticipated the diverse and changing needs of the metals and plastics business. As Wayne Gretzky, the famous hockey player said, ‘I don’t go where the puck is; I go where it is going to be.’”
